Sunken: A Wretched & Alone Solo Game

Sunken is a Solo Journaling RPG on the topics of isolation, loneliness, fear, & your will to overcome them.

Set in a newly discovered caving system called Esa'ala in Papua new guinea, you are a cave diver exploring and mapping the deepest cave in the world. When a tropical storm hits, you lose all communication with the outside world. Can you survive until a rescue team comes? do you have the strength to find your own way out? 

Game Setup:

To play, you will need

•  A standard deck of cards with the jokers removed. 
• A 6-sided dice
• Up to 12 tokens or an additional 2 6-sided dice 
• A Jenga tower (optional) 
• Something to record with or write in, such as a video camera, notebook, or word processor.

The Deck of Cards: 

The deck is divided into four categories based on suits. Some cards will have you pull from the tower, place or remove tokens from a card, or have you shuffle a card back into the deck. Some will ask you questions about your feelings or the situation. Other cards will spell out your death. 

• Hearts: Your Hope: The heart cards represent your hope. The little feeling you have that you can and will be saved. Hope can be a saving grace but shattered in a second. Hopefully you don’t lose it… 

• Diamonds: Your Mind: The diamond cards represent your mind. Darkness plays tricks on people, silence is deafeningly loud and there is only so much you can take before your mind snaps in a place like this… 

• Clubs: Your Supplies: The club cards represent your supplies. With the only way you know our inaccessible, you must preserve supplies, but also understand that help may not come. If that happens, you must use what’s left to save yourself… 

• Spades: Outside Occurrences: The Spade cards represent outside occurrences. This cave is unexplored, no one knows what could lurk down here. There are 100’s of kilometers of unexplored areas. And we all know that what does survive down here, evolved to stay down here.
